COLLECTIONS OFFICER

Own the collections function for an industry leader in construction and insurance repair work with strong presence across Australia and New Zealand, this multi-entity business works with major insurers nationwide.

This is a new role, you will be the first dedicated collections resource to build the process, manage relationships with insurers and loss adjusters, and prove the value of proactive collections. Your mornings are bank reconciliation across all entities. The rest of your day is outbound calls, stakeholder negotiation, and moving stalled invoices. The role reports to the AR Team Leader and sits within a finance function that is scaling to support group expansion.

This is a phone-heavy role

After you finish bank recs each morning, you will spend the rest of the day calling insurers, loss adjusters, and stakeholders to recover payments. You will chase the same slow accounts repeatedly, and you need thick skin and the judgement to know when to push and when to preserve the relationship.

What you need:

• Proven experience in debt collection or collections, with strong phone skills and the ability to handle high-pressure conversations professionally.
• Meticulous and organised, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills and comfort working across multiple entities in a high-volume environment.
• Right to work in Australia.
