POSITION DESCRIPTION

This document provides an indicative description of the purpose and accountabilities of the role and specifies competencies required to sustainably attain company objectives. Actual performance requirements and expectations should be included in the performance expectations.

Freighter Group has an ambitious strategy to be the most successful supplier of equipment, solutions, parts and services to the road transport industry throughout Australasia.
This will be achieved through focusing on efficiency and effectiveness in what we offer today and through growth in existing and new.

The Storeperson is responsible for the efficient receipting, storage, and dispatching of goods within the warehouse. This role ensures inventory accuracy, maintains workplace safety, and contributes to overall warehouse efficiency.

Role accountabilities

Stock Handling & Inventory Management - Receive, check, and store incoming stock following company procedures.
Accurately pick, pack, and dispatch goods for delivery or collection.
Maintain accurate stock records and assist with regular stocktakes.
Report stock discrepancies, damages, or losses to management.
Warehouse Operations - Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.Follow proper procedures for handling and storing hazardous or fragile materials.
Order Fulfillment & Logistics - Prepare and process orders efficiently to meet customer or business requirements. Assist with loading and unloading deliveries. Liaise with transport providers to ensure timely dispatch of goods.
Safety & Compliance Adhere to all workplace health and safety (WHS) guidelines.Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
General Duties Assist in cycle counts and stock audits.Work collaboratively with other team members to optimise warehouse performance.Perform other duties as required by management.Delivery of parts

Health & Safety accountabilities

All Injuries, incidents and near miss incidents are reported to the Workshop Supervisor.
A hygienic and orderly work environment is maintained.
Correct personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn.
Maintain compliance with company and or industry standards within health and safety
Participate in Health & Safety activities such as Health & Safety observations, hazard identification and risk assessment processes in line with Company procedures and processes.
Co-operate fully in any injury management process

Customer Focus

Acts with the customer in mind.
Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
Will always treat and communicate with the customer with respect.

Interpersonal skills

Accepts both positive and constructive feedback.
Ability to lead in a team environment
Time management and ability to multi task and meet deadlines
Problem solving

Accountability for Results

Consistently aims to be a top performer.
Pushes self to achieve results.
Takes ownership for his/her performance.

Qualification and experience
Education
- Successful completion of Year 12.
Experience
- Experience in a warehouse environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
