Dispatch Operator

About the role

Responsible for coordinating the dispatch and delivery of goods, managing transport bookings, ensuring accurate documentation, and collecting proof of delivery. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play an important role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining smooth operational performance. This is a Monday to Friday role, with family-friendly hours of 6:00am to 2:00pm.

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for the efficient and timely management of dispatching customer orders whilst adhering to Wesbeam policies and procedures

• Always operating with a conscious commitment to workplace health and safety standards

• Actively exhibiting a high priority and understanding of urgency to dispatch high-end quality products through an advanced understanding of DIFOTA

• Assisting Site Supervisor with the dispatch and delivery of goods

• Ensure accurate, efficient, and prompt delivery of orders to meet customer requirements

• Liaising with truck drivers to ensure efficient loading of delivery trucks using a forklift & side loader

• Maintain the chain of responsibility whilst loading

• Ensure correct paperwork is delivered with the order

• Responsible for the collection of Proof of Delivery paperwork

• Final check that jobs pulled correspond with delivery dockets

About you

• Proof of Australian Working Rights

• Current Australian Driver's Licence

• Current Forklift Licence (LF)

• National Police Clearance (>6months old)

• Pre-employment medical clearance (Standard, LAB-DAS, audio, musc)

• Basic knowledge of SAP

• Intermediate knowledge of SCIE

• Previous experience with timber and/or bulk goods logistics

• Experience in data management, recording and reporting

• Strong attention to detail, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to own and prioritise multiple disciplinary streams of work.
