We’re looking for an SEO Manager who loves getting properly stuck into the work, solving complex search problems and flexing those technical and strategic SEO muscles in a much bigger way.

Maybe you’re a gun SEO Specialist ready for more ownership and bigger problems to solve. Or perhaps you’re already an early-stage Manager and fancy bigger conversations, more interesting work and a real voice in where the strategy goes next.

You’ll have your own handful of killer clients to really get to know, building great relationships and owning the SEO thinking from strategy through to implementation.

THE GIG

As the SEO Manager, you’ll sit within Alpha’s DX team, reporting directly to the Head of Digital Experience.

You’ll own a tight client portfolio across strategy, technical SEO, Content and organic performance, with your own dedicated and pretty awesome SEO Executive alongside you.

It’s a proper mix of strategic thinking, killer client relationships and hands-on SEO. You’ll build the roadmaps, lead the conversations, spot the opportunities and stay close enough to the detail to make sure the work actually hits.

Technical SEO? Yep.
Content and on-page? Absolutely.
Strategy and client ownership? Big part of it.

Then there’s where search is heading. GEO, AEO and AI Search are a big part of Alpha’s world too. You don’t need to know it all already, but deep curiosity and a willingness to experiment gets a very big tick.

Basically? Thinking, doing and owning, with a lil’ leadership sprinkled in too.

Your day will look a lil’ like:

• Own your client portfolio across SEO strategy, roadmaps, implementation and organic performance
• Get properly close to your clients, understanding the bigger business problem and turning it into smart strategy and clear next moves
• Flex those technical SEO muscles across audits, crawlability, indexing, site architecture, schema, on-page optimisation and all the juicy technical bits
• Think beyond SEO in a silo, working alongside the wider crew to connect strategy, technical SEO, Content, Digital PR and DX to land on the best approach for each brand
• Dig into the data, spot what’s working, what isn’t and where the next organic growth opportunity lives
• Lead and support your SEO Exec, delegating delivery, QA’ing the work and helping them level up
• Stay curious about AI, evolving search and what all of it means for the strategies you’re building

AND YOU?

First things first, you know SEO properly.

You’ve got solid hands-on experience under your belt and can move comfortably between technical SEO, Content and strategy.

You know how to take a client challenge, understand the business behind it and carry that thinking through strategy, planning, implementation and reporting. You’re technical enough to know what needs fixing, but commercially switched on enough to understand why it matters.

And you like clients. Important little detail, haha.

You can lead the conversation, explain the complicated stuff like a human and bring a POV rather than waiting to be told what comes next.

You’ll probably bring:

• 3-5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with strong chops across technical SEO, Content and organic strategy
• Confidence with the usual SEO suspects like Semrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console and the wider technical SEO toolkit
• Strong data chops across GA4 and Looker Studio, knowing how to dig into the numbers and pull out what actually matters
• Proper client-facing confidence, from WIPs and recommendations through to bigger strategic conversations
• A track record of taking SEO strategy through to implementation and measurable organic growth
• The ability to think beyond individual SEO levers and understand the bigger DX picture
• Enough experience to guide and develop an SEO Exec while still loving being close to the work
• A solid understanding of GEO and AI Search, or a very healthy curiosity to get amongst it
• eCommerce and agency experience would be a lovely little bonus
