Digital & Ecommerce Trading Manager

We’re looking for an inspired and brand-aligned Digital & Ecommerce Trading Manager to drive day-to-day performance of by charlotte’s ecommerce business through effective digital trading, onsite optimisation, and agency management. You’ll play a key role in creating meaningful moments for our community, inspiring connection, uplifting others, and embodying the by charlotte spirit in everything you do. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

In this role you will execute our digital trading strategy, improve conversion and customer experience, and deliver commercial outcomes across the ecommerce channel, while supporting broader digital initiatives as the business continues to scale.  

Key responsibilities include: 

• Own day-to-day ecommerce trading against revenue, conversion, and customer experience targets, and execute the promotional/trading calendar with Merchandising and Marketing. 
• Monitor key metrics (revenue, CVR, AOV, UPT, traffic, margin) and deliver weekly and monthly trading reports with insights and recommendations. 
• Manage onsite merchandising, category optimisation, product launches, promotions, and content updates to maximise commercial performance. 
• Partner with Merchandising on stock allocation and replenishment so best-sellers stay available and stockout losses are minimised. 
• Drive continuous improvement to the onsite experience through optimisation of navigation, merchandising, search, and content. 
• Identify opportunities to lift conversion, engagement, and basket size using analytics, customer insights, and performance data. 
• Coordinate website testing and optimisation initiatives, measuring outcomes and recommending next steps. 
• Track competitor activity, customer behaviour, and industry trends to spot growth opportunities. 
• Support management of external digital agencies (paid media, SEO, affiliate, development), coordinating briefs and ensuring on-time, priority-aligned delivery. 
• Support ongoing improvements across Shopify and the wider digital technology ecosystem, including strategic projects, platform enhancements, and international/Shopify Markets initiatives. 
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, and build strong cross-functional relationships across Merchandise, Marketing, CRM, Customer Experience, and Retail.

The ideal candidate will also have: 

• 5+ years’ experience in ecommerce, digital trading, or online merchandising within a retail or consumer business. 
• Demonstrated experience managing the day-to-day performance of an ecommerce website. 
• A strong understanding of ecommerce trading metrics, including conversion rate, AOV, UPT, revenue, traffic, and customer behaviour. 
• Hands-on experience with Shopify, Shopify Plus, or similar ecommerce platforms. 
• Strong working knowledge of GA4, with the ability to interpret performance data and identify commercial opportunities. 
• Experience managing external digital agencies and coordinating website enhancements. 
• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 
• Strong commercial acumen and a customer-first mindset. 
• Previous experience leading or mentoring team members.
