Tuley
About the role
Tuley is seeking several proactive, compassionate and reliable Support Workers to become part of a small and consistent team supporting a thoughtful, intelligent and creative woman living independently in Beldon.
This is an opportunity to build genuine, long-term relationships with someone who values trust, faith, learning, personal growth and meaningful connection. We are looking for support workers who enjoy walking alongside people as they pursue their goals, develop confidence and create a life that reflects what matters most to them.
The participant is a bright, insightful and highly educated woman who enjoys music, art, nature, animals, theology, technology, learning and research. She is a devout Catholic and values opportunities to grow in her faith, contribute to her community and continue building her independence.
Like many autistic people, she thrives when those around her understand the importance of predictability, clear communication, autonomy and respecting individual differences. She values support workers who are patient, emotionally mature, organised, dependable and genuinely interested in getting to know her as a person. Consistency, trust and strong relationships matter.
We believe great support starts with understanding.
The successful applicants will understand that autism and ADHD are natural variations in how people experience and interact with the world. Rather than focusing on changing who someone is, you will support the participant to build on her strengths, navigate challenges and pursue goals that are meaningful to her.
You will understand that capacity can fluctuate from day to day. Some days she may feel motivated and ready to actively participate in planning, cooking, organising and community activities. Other days, fatigue, sensory overwhelm, anxiety or health challenges may make these activities much harder.
The right support workers will know how to:
One of the most important qualities we are seeking is initiative.
The participant benefits most from support workers who naturally notice what needs doing and are happy to take positive action. We are looking for people who actively contribute to making each day meaningful, engaging and productive.
The ideal applicants will be people who:
You will be trusted to use your judgement, take initiative and actively contribute to creating a life that is engaging, balanced and purposeful.
One of the most important aspects of this role is supporting healthy nutrition, meal preparation and daily routines.
There are times when the participant enjoys learning, participating and building skills alongside support workers. There are also times when fatigue, sensory overwhelm or health challenges can make planning and preparing meals difficult.
We are looking for support workers who:
Supports may include:
You are likely to be someone who is:
Experience supporting people with any of the following would be highly regarded:
At Tuley, we believe the best outcomes happen when support workers and participants genuinely connect. We take great care in matching people based on personality, values, interests and communication style because quality support is built on trust, respect and authentic relationships.
Our team is passionate about helping people live lives that are meaningful to them. We celebrate individuality, respect autonomy and work alongside participants to build confidence, strengthen independence and create opportunities for growth and connection.
If you are the kind of person who notices what needs doing, enjoys cooking, embraces neurodiversity, values meaningful relationships and wants to be part of a team making a genuine difference in someone’s life, we’d love to hear from you.
Together, we’ll help create opportunities, build confidence, strengthen independence and support a life rich in purpose, connection and possibility.
