Senior Software Developer

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Software Developer to take ownership of developing, improving and maintaining software solutions that support Shred-X and Med-X.

This role will be based out of our Yatala Branch, with some occasional travel between sites required.

Embedded within the IT team, this is a hands-on role focused on software development, system performance, integration, automation and delivering practical technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, customer experience and business performance.

You will work closely with teams across the business to understand problems, develop solutions and ensure our systems remain reliable, secure, scalable and fit for purposes.

What you'll do

• Design, develop and maintain software solutions across Shred-X and Med-X.
• Develop high-quality, efficient and maintainable code using the Microsoft technology stack.

• Participate in the full software delivery lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment and ongoing improvement.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
• Analyse application performance, system usage and data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Improve system speed, reliability, responsiveness and overall user experience.
• Consume and integrate APIs and SDKs to extend system functionality.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and reduce manual effort.
• Develop solutions that improve data accuracy, reporting and operational efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve software and system issues.
• Maintain high standards of code quality, consistency and documentation.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles and training materials.
• Work closely with IT and business teams to identify problems and develop practical solutions.
• Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers and technology providers where required.
• Contribute to broader IT projects and initiatives.
• Provide support and technical guidance to other members of the IT team where required.

What we're looking for

Essential

Applicants should meet at least two of the following criteria:

• Proven professional experience in software development.
• Strong experience with C#, .NET, SQL and Visual Studio.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining modern business applications.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and modern development practices.
• Experience working with REST APIs, SDKs and system integrations.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse and improve system performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work independently, take ownership and manage competing priorities.
• A commercially minded approach to software development.
• The ability to understand business requirements and translate them into practical technology solutions.
• A collaborative, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

You don't need experience with every technology listed. We are looking for someone with strong core software development skills who is curious, and is comfortable learning new technologies and applying them to real business problems.

Your Initial Projects

We will initially focus on projects that can deliver measurable business value, including:

• Improving the performance and reliability of core business applications.
• Developing new features and functionality for Shred-X and Med-X systems.
• Integrating internal systems with third-party platforms through APIs and SDKs.
• Automating manual business processes and workflows.
• Improving data quality and system reporting.
• Identifying and resolving system bottlenecks and performance issues.
• Improving the usability and experience of business applications.

These projects may later expand into broader system architecture, automation, AI-enabled solutions, data analytics and strategic technology initiatives.
