The Woodhouse Bar & Grill is an award-winning Bendigo restaurant known for premium Victorian produce, exceptional steaks, wood-fired cooking, an outstanding wine list and genuine hospitality.

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our leadership team.

The Opportunity

This is more than an Assistant Manager position. We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with us and has the ambition to progress into a Restaurant Manager or senior management position.

Working closely with our Restaurant Manager and Directors, you will take an active role in leading the front-of-house team and running the restaurant.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the front-of-house team during service

• Supporting the Restaurant Manager with day-to-day operations

• Taking responsibility for service and the venue when required

• Training, coaching and developing team members

• Maintaining high standards of service and presentation

• Creating exceptional guest experiences

• Handling guest enquiries and resolving issues professionally

• Assisting with reservations, functions and special events

• Supporting rostering, staff performance and team organisation

• Assisting with stock, ordering and operational procedures

• Working closely with the kitchen and management teams

About You

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years’ hospitality experience, including experience leading a team in a restaurant environment.

You will be:

• A confident leader who leads by example

• Professional, organised and well presented

• Comfortable running busy restaurant services

• A strong communicator with excellent people skills

• Confident dealing with guests and resolving issues

• Interested in food, wine and premium hospitality

• Proactive and willing to take ownership

• Looking for a long-term career in hospitality

WSET wine training or qualifications will be highly regarded and considered a bonus.

Experience in a quality restaurant environment will also be highly regarded.
