Hive and Wellness Australia
About the role
Plan smarter. Keep our operations moving. Build your engineering career.
Hive & Wellness Australia is home to some of Australia’s most trusted honey and wellness brands, including Capilano Honey, Barnes Naturals and Wescobee Honey.
We’re looking for an organised, analytical and proactive Engineering & Projects Planner to join our Engineering & Maintenance team in Richlands.
This is a hands-on planning role where you’ll be responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities, managing our MEX maintenance system, supporting spare parts planning and helping our engineering team keep equipment reliable and operations running smoothly.
You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in engineering projects, site improvements and continuous improvement initiatives as you develop in the role.
Project experience is desirable, but not essential. Engineering graduates and candidates looking to build their experience in maintenance planning are encouraged to apply.
What you’ll be doing
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
Own the planning and scheduling of preventative and corrective maintenance through our MEX CMMS.
Develop and maintain weekly and monthly maintenance schedules.
Coordinate with the maintenance team and operations to prioritise upcoming work.
Monitor outstanding work orders and follow up to keep planned maintenance on track.
Help ensure labour, materials, equipment and resources are available when maintenance is required.
Maintain accurate asset, maintenance and work order records.
Prepare maintenance reports and KPIs to help monitor equipment reliability and performance.
Identify opportunities to improve our maintenance planning processes and ways of working.
Spare Parts & Inventory Planning
Monitor maintenance spare parts and consumables to support upcoming planned work.
Raise purchase orders and coordinate purchasing through MEX.
Work with suppliers to obtain quotes, specifications and lead times.
Maintain accurate inventory records and support regular stocktakes.
Assist with organising and maintaining the engineering stores.
Track purchasing and usage information to support cost control and planning.
Get Exposure to Engineering Projects
You don’t need to be an experienced project manager to succeed in this role.
As you build your knowledge of our equipment, processes and operations, you’ll have the opportunity to support capital projects, equipment upgrades and site improvement initiatives.
You may be involved in:
Project scheduling and milestone tracking.
Obtaining supplier quotes and technical information.
Coordinating contractors and site requirements.
Tracking actions and project deliverables.
Supporting project documentation and administration.
Assisting with projects from planning through to implementation.
The project component of the role will provide an opportunity to broaden your engineering experience and take on more responsibility as you develop.
Continuous Improvement
We want people who don’t just follow a process. We want people who look for ways to make it better.
You’ll have the opportunity to identify and implement improvements across our maintenance planning and engineering processes, including:
Improving maintenance scheduling and workflows.
Making better use of our CMMS and maintenance data.
Using reporting and data to identify trends and opportunities.
Streamlining processes and reducing administrative inefficiencies.
Exploring technology, automation and AI to improve how we work.
Supporting initiatives that improve reliability, safety and efficiency.
What we’re looking for
We’re more interested in your planning ability, attention to detail and willingness to learn than having every requirement on day one.
You might be an experienced maintenance planner or a recent engineering graduate looking to kick-start your career in manufacturing.
You’ll ideally have:
A qualification or background in engineering, maintenance, manufacturing or a related discipline.
Strong planning and organisational skills.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
An analytical and methodical approach to problem solving.
Confidence working with systems, data and technical information.
Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with people across engineering, maintenance, operations and external suppliers.
A proactive approach and genuine interest in continuous improvement.
It would be great if you also have:
Experience with a CMMS such as MEX, SAP PM, Maximo or similar.
Previous maintenance planning or manufacturing experience.
Exposure to engineering or capital projects.
Experience with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
Experience coordinating contractors or suppliers.
Why Hive & Wellness?
You’ll join a supportive Engineering & Maintenance team where you can develop your skills while working with well-known Australian brands.
You’ll also enjoy:

Free and confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Free secure onsite parking.
Supportive and collaborative team environment.

Regular team celebrations, social events and community initiatives.
Ready to take the next step?
If you’re an organised planner who enjoys working with systems, solving problems and finding better ways of doing things, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
Whether you’re bringing maintenance planning experience or you’re a graduate ready to start your engineering career, you’ll have the opportunity to learn, contribute and grow with Hive & Wellness.
