Riggers | Cel Action Pipeline | Hooligan Animation | DEANO (2D Animated Series) – Expression of Interest

Hooligan Animation is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Riggers to join the team on the 2D animated series DEANO. This role is suited to technical artists who are confident working within 2D animation pipelines and building efficient, production-ready rigs that support animation performance and consistency.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Build and maintain character rigs for 2D animation production
• Ensure rigs are clean, efficient and animation-ready
• Work closely with animators and directors to support performance needs
• Troubleshoot and refine rigs based on production feedback
• Maintain consistency across characters and episodes
• Adhere to strict studio file naming conventions and production workflows
• Deliver work to production deadlines and quotas

Requirements

• Proven experience in 2D rigging for animation productions
• Strong proficiency in CelAction is essential
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop for rig preparation
• Understanding of animation principles and deformation systems
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong communication and time management skills

Production Pipeline

• Rigs must be clean, modular and built for production use
• Work closely with animation and production teams to ensure usability and performance
• Maintain organised project files and version control throughout production

• This role is fully studio-based at our Brisbane studio.
