About the role
Position Description:
The APS 6 Fraud Investigator is responsible for conducting and supporting investigations into suspected fraud affecting Department of Social Services administered programs, grants, procurement activities and departmental functions. The role applies investigation methodologies and evidentiary practices in accordance with the Australian Government Investigations Standard (AGIS), relevant legislation, departmental policies and the Commonwealth Fraud and Corruption Control Framework.
The position works under limited direction and contributes to protecting the integrity of DSS programs and public resources.
Eligibility / Additional Requirements:
To be eligible for employment with Department of Social Services (the department), you must be an Australian citizen. An applicant's suitability for employment with the Department will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This will include an identity and criminal history background check.
Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance:
To be eligible for this role, applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the required level through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA). This includes meeting AGSVA's identity, referee, and background checking requirements. Applicants with a history of overseas residence, employment, or travel may still be eligible, provided they can supply the information, documentation, and referee details required to support the security vetting process in accordance with the AGSVA requirements.
