Enterprise Lead

Help build the businesses that help Chorus do more good. 

Chorus supports around 6,000 people across Perth, Bunbury and Albany – older West Australians, people on a mental health recovery journey, and people with disability. We’re not a typical service provider. Three years ago we pulled apart the traditional org chart and rebuilt Chorus as a network of small, decentralised local teams, run through Circles (our sociocratic leadership groups) rather than a conventional management hierarchy. Now we’re doing something similar with our commercial side. 

We’re building an Enterprise Hub – a stable of businesses that stand on their own commercial feet and feed back into what Chorus is here to do. Right now that’s Meals (through our new production facility), Community Transport, an emerging Clinical service, and a Registered Training Organisation still finding its feet. Some are running well. Some are just ideas with promise. All of them need someone who can make the commercial case, do the deals, and back the people running them. 

This role works as a genuine partner to Chorus’s operational teams, not a subordinate. You’ll need real leadership runs on the board – P&L ownership, deal-making, partnership management – ideally across more than one business at a time. You’ll need to be comfortable in a funded, regulated sector (aged care, disability, NDIS) even without direct experience in one. And you’ll need to be genuinely good with ambiguity: this function doesn’t fully exist yet, and part of the job is building it as you go. 

What you’ll do 

• Build commercially sound, well-governed plans alongside each business’s leader 
• Understand the numbers – pricing, unit economics, the P&L conversation with Chorus’s Circles and Board 
• Find and build the case for new enterprise opportunities 
• Coach, mentor and strengthen the people running each business, rather than running it for them 
• Turn real conversations with customers, staff and Locals into an evidence-based digital and product brief, partnering closely with Chorus’s Digital Circle (our central digital, product and platform team)  
• Build and direct the Hub’s own digital execution capacity 
• Share accountability for the Hub’s wellbeing, health and safety practices 

What you’ll bring 

• Commercial leadership experience, ideally across multiple business lines 
• Strong financial literacy and negotiation skill 
• A governance eye – you notice conflicts of interest and related-party risk before they bite 
• Comfort with ambiguity and a self-starting way of working 
• Enough grounding in user research, co-design and service design thinking to frame a genuine problem, not just hand over a wish list 
• A genuine interest in what Chorus is about: belonging, not just service delivery 

You’ll also need:

• A current Driver’s Licence
• A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain one)
• A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
