The role

Build your career in property while gaining hands-on experience managing a diverse portfolio of Council assets!

As a Graduate Property Officer within the Property & Strategic Land Holdings Unit, you'll work alongside experienced property professionals and gain practical exposure to the management of Council's property portfolio. You'll support a range of activities including leasing, licensing, property acquisitions and disposals, while developing a strong understanding of property management within Local Government.

This is a two-year Temporary Full-Time opportunity, commencing in February 2027, designed to provide practical experience, professional development and a strong foundation for your career in property.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Support the Property team in managing Council's diverse property portfolio.
• Assist with leasing, property acquisitions, disposals and residential property management.
• Coordinate day-to-day property management activities, including tenancy records, insurance documentation and rent arrears.
• Assist with property projects, Aboriginal Land Claims and public exhibition processes.
• Prepare reports, memos and documentation relating to leasing and property transactions.
• Liaise with consultants, tenants and internal stakeholders to support property-related activities.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of property processes, procedures and systems.
• Update relevant databases such as the Tenancy and Certificate of Currency schedule.

You will have

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Property Economics or Diploma of Property or other tertiary qualification in a related field.
• The related degree needs to be completed within 24 months prior to February 2027
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Customer Service and ability to build relationships with stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (excel, word, outlook etc)
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Demonstrates a proactive can-do attitude and consistently contributes innovative ideas to improve processes and outcomes.

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $74,692 (Grade D, Step 1) + 12% super.
