About the Role
An opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Perioperative Liaison Nurse to join Monash Health's Elective Surgery Services (ESS) team on a Full Time Ongoing basis. This is a Monday – Friday role, typically 8:00am – 4:30pm, however is rostered according to operational requirements.
This role is central to delivering a contemporary elective surgery model of care, acting as the single point of contact for patients throughout their surgical journey. Working closely with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams, you will coordinate and optimise patients for elective surgery, ensuring they are clinically prepared, appropriately scheduled and supported from referral through to the day of surgery.
You will play a key role in improving the patient experience, reducing day-of-surgery cancellations, managing elective surgery waitlists in accordance with the Elective Surgery Access Policy (ESAP), and supporting the efficient utilisation of theatre capacity across Monash Health. The role also involves travel across Monash Health campuses based on service requirements.
