The store operates in a fast-paced retail environment requiring effective stock management, supplier coordination, customer service, merchandising, and day-to-day operational management. The business is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the store's daily retail operations and support continued business performance and customer service standards. ABOUT THE ROLE

The Retail Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the supermarket, including product selection and presentation, purchasing and stock control, pricing, sales performance, customer service, staff management, and workplace compliance. The role requires strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage a busy supermarket environment while maintaining appropriate stock levels, product availability, service standards, and operational efficiency. This is a permanent full-time position based on a minimum 38-hour working week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Retail Operations and Product Management 1. Determine appropriate product ranges and product mix based on customer demand, seasonal requirements, sales performance, and store operations. 2. Monitor stock levels and product availability across grocery, fresh, frozen, and specialty food ranges.

3. Maintain appropriate merchandising, product presentation, pricing, and service standards throughout the store. 4. Review sales activity and customer purchasing patterns to identify opportunities to improve product selection and store performance. 5. Coordinate the receipt, storage, display, and replenishment of merchandise.

Purchasing, Stock Control and Supplier Management 1. Coordinate purchasing activities and liaise with suppliers to maintain reliable product availability. 2. Monitor inventory levels and identify replenishment requirements.

3. Review supplier pricing, product availability, quality, and delivery performance. 4. Maintain appropriate stock rotation and storage practices, particularly for fresh and frozen products. 5. Minimise stock loss, wastage, damage, and unnecessary inventory costs.

6. Maintain accurate stock records and monitor inventory movements. Sales, Pricing and Customer Service 1. Assist in formulating and implementing pricing and promotional strategies for supermarket products.

2. Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue and customer engagement. 3. Promote products and seasonal or promotional offerings within the store. 4. Provide customers with assistance and information regarding products and their use where appropriate.

5. Address customer concerns and maintain a high standard of customer service. 6. Ensure the store provides a clean, organised, accessible, and welcoming shopping environment. Staff Management and Compliance

1. Coordinate the selection, induction, training, supervision, and day-to-day allocation of retail staff. 2. Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties according to operational requirements. 3. Provide guidance and supervision to staff to maintain productivity and customer service standards.

4. Monitor staff performance and address operational issues as required. 5. Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and applicable retail procedures. 6. Maintain appropriate records relating to stock, sales, purchasing, staff activities, and financial transactions.

7. Assist with budgeting and monitoring store expenditure and operating costs. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS 1. Relevant qualification in Retail Management, Business, Management, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent relevant skills and experience.

2. Minimum one (1) year of relevant recent experience in retail management or supermarket operations. 3. Demonstrated experience in stock control, purchasing, supplier coordination, and retail inventory management. 4. Experience supervising and coordinating retail staff in a busy customer-facing environment.

5. Sound understanding of retail merchandising, pricing, sales, and customer service practices. 6. Ability to work with fresh, frozen, grocery, and specialty food product ranges. 7. Strong organisational, communication, problem-solving, and commercial decision-making skills.

8. Ability to work a flexible full-time roster, including weekends and public holidays as required by the business. KEY COMPETENCIES
