About the role

Central Diesel & Hydraulics Pty. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Kilmore, VIC 3764. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing heavy diesel vehicles and equipment. As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing complex mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring that all vehicles operate safely and efficiently. Your expertise will be fundamental to keeping our clients' operations running smoothly and maintaining our reputation for quality service delivery.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in heavy diesel vehicles and equipment

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups

• Conduct thorough inspections of engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems

• Test and adjust vehicle systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards

• Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all work completed

• Operate diagnostic equipment and specialist tools safely and effectively

• Collaborate with workshop team members to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures

What we're looking for

• A formal qualification in heavy diesel mechanics or equivalent trade experience of at least 3-5 years

• Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy diesel engines and vehicle systems

• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, as this is central to our business

• Current driver's license and ability to operate heavy vehicles safely

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

• A commitment to health and safety practices and compliance with industry standards
