Thermal Laminator Operator– Flexible Packaging

About the role

This is a hands-on production role operating thermal laminating equipment used in the manufacture of high-quality flexible packaging. You will set up and operate thermal laminating equipment, laminate a range of flexible packaging films and substrates, and maintain high standards of safety, quality and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate thermal laminating equipment

• Laminate a range of flexible packaging films and substrates

• Set and monitor temperature, pressure, tension and machine speeds

• Ensure correct web alignment and tension throughout production

• Complete machine setup and job changeovers efficiently

• Inspect laminated material for defects and ensure finished product meets specifications

• Monitor bond quality and overall laminate appearance

• Troubleshoot laminating and web-handling issues

• Minimise setup waste, production waste and downtime

• Accurately complete production and quality documentation

About you

• Previous experience operating laminating or converting machinery

• Experience within flexible packaging, printing or film converting

• Good understanding of flexible films and web-fed materials

• Experience with web tension and roll-to-roll machinery

• Strong mechanical aptitude

• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• A strong focus on quality and productivity

• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team

• A reliable and positive attitude
