Join our team as a Sport and Recreation Liaison Officer

As the Sport and Recreation Liaison Officer, you'll work closely with sporting clubs and committees, providing practical advice and support on day-to-day operations, leasing and licensing requirements, and Council processes. You'll also act as a key link between clubs and Council, coordinating maintenance and operational requirements for sporting facilities and helping clubs access the support they need to deliver positive community outcomes.

The role offers valuable experience in contract management, stakeholder engagement, customer service and problem-solving, while contributing to stronger and more sustainable sporting opportunities across the Redlands Coast. Your responsibilities will include:

• Building strong relationships with local sporting clubs, recreation organisations and community stakeholders.
• Providing specialist advice on governance, grant funding, sponsorship, fundraising, partnerships, marketing and promotional strategies.
• Supporting clubs and committees with leasing, licensing and land access requirements for Council-managed sporting facilities.
• Identifying funding and partnership opportunities that strengthen community sport and recreation outcomes.
• Coordinating maintenance and operational requirements for sporting facilities in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Delivering exceptional customer service and support to sporting organisations on Council processes, facility access and infrastructure-related matters.
• Contributing to the planning and development of Council's sport and recreation facilities, programs and services through stakeholder engagement and industry insights.

Skills and experience:

• Experience working with sporting clubs, community organisations, recreation groups or other stakeholder-focused environments.
• Demonstrated ability to provide advice and support on governance, organisational development and operational matters.
• Experience building strong relationships and engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Knowledge of, or experience in, leasing, licensing, land access agreements or the management of community facilities.
• Ability to identify funding, grant and partnership opportunities to support community outcomes.
• Strong communication, negotiation and customer service skills, with the ability to influence positive outcomes.
• Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• An understanding of the sport and recreation sector and the important role community clubs and volunteers play in delivering local opportunities.
• Qualifications in sport, recreation, physical activity, coaching or leisure management, and/or substantial experience working within the sport and recreation industry, will be highly regarded.

• You'll hold a current C Class Driver's Licence.
• You'll hold a current Blue Card (Paid), or have the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
