Business Development Manager

About the role

The Customer Service and Business Development Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing Ipswich Laundry Service's client base within the aged care, personal care and NDIS sectors, while providing day to day customer service to existing clients. This is a part time, dual-purpose role combining relationship-based sales with account management, suited to a candidate with genuine sector experience and an existing understanding of how aged care, personal care and NDIS providers procure services.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to client enquiries by phone, email and in person in a timely and professional manner

• Manage existing client accounts, including order processing, scheduling and issue resolution, in coordination with the operations team

• Maintain accurate client and account records

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the aged care, personal care and NDIS sectors

• Target and secure small commercial contracts generally in the range of $20,000 to $80,000 per annum

• Prepare and follow up quotes and proposals for prospective clients

• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and report on progress against targets

• Build and maintain referral relationships with aged care providers, disability service providers and other small commercial prospects in the Ipswich region

• Represent Ipswich Laundry Service at relevant weekly community, industry and networking events

• Liaise with the operations team to ensure new accounts are onboarded smoothly and agreed service levels are maintained

About you

• Demonstrated experience working within, or selling into, the aged care, personal care or NDIS sectors

• Experience managing or securing small commercial contracts

• Strong customer service skills, with a professional and approachable manner

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities within part time hours

• Current driver's licence and own reliable transport

• Existing networks within the aged care, personal care or NDIS sectors in the Ipswich region (desirable)

• Experience with customer relationship management systems such as Linentech (desirable)

• Background in business development, account management or a related sales function (must have)

Benefits

• Commission payable on revenue generated during the first six months of contract at 5% on revenue generated above a threshold of 2xTEC or above an initial $83,200

• Fixed monthly allowance of $400 to cover work related expenses, including travel to client and prospect meetings

• Mobile phone provided for the role, together with a dedicated landline number

• Core hours of Monday to Thursday, 9.30am to 2.30pm

• Support provided to attend one major relevant Ipswich industry event per year
