Shop Assistant

Part-Time | 3-5 Days Per Week | $55,000-$60,000 Pro Rata

We are looking for a friendly, reliable person to join our busy IT shop in a varied customer-facing role.

This is a great position for someone who enjoys working with people, staying organised and having plenty of variety in their day. You do not need to be an IT expert. We can teach you the technical side.

The role

Your day will include:

• Assisting customers and making sales in-store

• Taking and managing customer job bookings

• Keeping customers updated on their jobs

• Answering incoming phone calls and emails

• Providing friendly, professional customer service

• Keeping the shop tidy and well presented

• Restocking shelves and displays

• Ordering and managing stock

• Supporting the team with general day-to-day tasks

This isn’t a role where you’ll sit behind a desk all day. You’ll spend plenty of time on your feet in the shop, helping customers and keeping things running, mixed with time behind the counter handling calls, emails and bookings.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is friendly, confident and comfortable talking with customers

• Has strong customer service and communication skills

• Is organised and can keep track of multiple jobs

• Is reliable and takes responsibility for getting things done

• Is comfortable using computers and learning new systems

• Enjoys working as part of a small team

• Is happy working in a hands-on retail environment

Previous IT or technology experience would be great, but it isn’t essential. If you’re interested in technology and willing to learn, we’ll provide training.

Hours and salary

This is a part-time position working 3-5 days per week, depending on the right candidate.

Hours are 9:00am-5:30pm, with some flexibility around the number of days worked.

Mondays are essential.

Salary is $55,000-$60,000 per year pro rata, depending on experience.
