Bayside Health is a public health service delivering high-quality care across every stage of life for close to 1.2 million people living in metropolitan Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula, Koo Wee Rup, Bass Coast and Southern Gippsland.

Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.
The Team & Role
The Food Services Assistant is an integral and valued member of the wider Support Services team, contributing to the provision of food services for inpatients while ensuring compliance with Food Safety Guidelines and Victorian Cleaning Standards. Working collaboratively within a team environment, this role supports the delivery of a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients, visitors and staff through effective food preparation, meal plating and distribution, cleaning of kitchen equipment, and maintaining high standards of service. The role requires a professional and friendly approach in all interactions with patients, consumers and colleagues, supported by strong emotional intelligence, clear and effective communication, teamwork, consumer service, continuous learning, critical thinking, problem solving, and the ability to engage in courageous conversations when required.Please click here to see the Position Description.
