Mechanic - Leading Hand (Fleet)

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanic Leading Hand to join our Malaga workshop, working across a modern heavy vehicle fleet. This is a great opportunity for a strong, driven leader ready to step up and make an impact.

• $52.59/hr+ $5K Attraction Bonus +$20K Retention Bonus + Overtime opportunities
• Must be able to work a rotating day and night shift and be on call on weekends
• Full uniform & laundry service provided
• Supportive team and well-established workshop

The Opportunity 

• 70% on the tools / 30% leadership position
• Leading a team of up to 10 mechanics across day and night shifts
• Carry out servicing, diagnostics, breakdowns and hydraulic repairs
• Lead and mentor a team of mechanics and apprentices
• Support day-to-day workshop operations and handovers between shifts
• Drive safety, performance and continuous improvement

About You 

• Trade qualified (Cert III in Heavy Vehicle or Mobile Plant Technology)
• 3–5+ year’s experience in a similar role
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive change
• Solid diagnostic and heavy vehicle repair experience
• HR/MC License not essential or be willing to obtain
• Forklift License not essential or be willing to obtain
• Background in transport, waste, mining or civil (desirable)
• Must be able to pass pre-employment medical and drug screen
