Medical Receptionist

About the role

As a Medical Receptionist at HandsOn Therapy, you will be an important part of our front-of-house team and the first point of contact for our patients. You will be responsible for creating a positive, welcoming and professional experience for every patient who interacts with our reception team. You will play an important role in ensuring patients feel comfortable, valued and well supported from the moment they arrive. This is a fast-paced, people-focused role suited to someone who enjoys interacting with patients, can confidently manage competing priorities and takes pride in providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Creating a positive, welcoming and professional experience for every patient

• Welcoming patients and providing a friendly and approachable first point of contact

• Answering incoming phone calls and assisting patients with enquiries

• Booking, confirming and managing patient appointments

• Checking patients in and out of their appointments

• Processing patient payments

• Communicating with patients, therapists and other healthcare professionals

• Maintaining a professional and welcoming reception environment

• Responding to emails and patient enquiries in a timely manner

• Assisting patients with general queries and providing appropriate information

• Is calm, warm, welcoming and professional

• Enjoys working with people and providing excellent customer service

• Is confident answering phones and communicating with patients

• Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work

• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Has strong attention to detail

• Can work confidently in a fast-paced environment

• Can manage multiple patients, phone calls and competing priorities

• Has experience using Microsoft Office 365

• Is confident learning and using new computer systems and technology
