Newcastle Anglican has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Safety & Wellbeing professional to join the People & Culture team. This is a strategic role where you will partner with leaders to support the effective management of health, safety & wellbeing risks across the organisation.

Role & Responsibilities:
Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Newcastle Anglican’s Safety and Wellbeing Strategy, including psychosocial health and safety initiatives.Develop and enhance systems, frameworks and processes that strengthen organisational safety and wellbeing capability, maturity and performance.Partner with leaders and key stakeholders to build leadership capability, strengthen safety culture, support adoption of initiatives and embed sustainable improvements.Provide expert advice, consultation and practical solutions that improve safety and wellbeing outcomes, support risk management and promote safe systems of work.Deliver and support the implementation of safety and wellbeing programs and initiatives that improve workforce wellbeing, engagement and organisational outcomes.Use safety and wellbeing data, insights and trends to identify improvement opportunities, inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.Support compliance with relevant safety and wellbeing legislation, standards, policies and governance requirements.
About you?
Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or demonstrated experience in that field Current drivers licenceA current Working with Children CheckA current NDIS checkNational police check (Newcastle Anglican will consider relevance of any reported outcomes).Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the WHS legislation, it's application and managing those requirementsHigh level competency and experience in implementing WHS strategiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to extract meaningful insights from dataDemonstrated strategic experience within WHS, including governance and safety culture leadershipExperience managing WHS programs of work in aged care, disability, community services or school environments (desirable)
