The Island, Elizabeth Quay is looking for Duty Managers to join our team. With both full-time and casual positions available, this is a great leadership opportunity for experienced hospitality professionals.

Located in the heart of Perth’s CBD, The Island is a vibrant restaurant, pub and events venue, known for great food, drinks, functions and our very own on-site microbrewery. 🍻

We’re looking for hands-on leaders who enjoy being part of the action, leading a team and creating a great experience for every guest.

The Role

As a Duty Manager, you’ll play a key role in keeping the venue running smoothly. You’ll lead from the floor, support your team and make sure our guests receive exceptional service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting the team across restaurant, bar and functions

• Overseeing day-to-day venue operations

• Bartending, hosting and running food when required

• Supporting waitstaff, bar staff and kitchen teams during busy periods

• Managing functions, bookings and event operations

• Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally

• Maintaining high standards of service, presentation and venue operations

• Opening and/or closing the venue and completing relevant operational duties

• Leading by example and creating a positive, energetic team environment

This is a hands-on Duty Manager position. You’ll be visible on the floor, working alongside your team and jumping in wherever needed to keep service running at its best.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people who are:

• Experienced in a busy restaurant, pub or bar environment

• Confident leading and supporting a hospitality team

• Comfortable behind the bar and on the floor

• Friendly, professional and confident dealing with guests

• Organised and capable of managing bookings, functions and administration

• Calm under pressure and able to make good decisions on the spot

• Hands-on and willing to get involved wherever needed

• Reliable, flexible and committed to delivering great service

Essential:

• WA Approved Manager Certificate

• Current RSA

• Right to work in Australia
