PVC Extruder Operator

About the role

Extrusion Technologies International P/L is seeking a skilled and experienced PVC Extruder Operator to join our manufacturing team on a full-time basis at our facility in Yatala, QLD 4207. This is a hands-on operational role that is critical to our production capabilities, where you will be responsible for operating and maintaining PVC extrusion equipment to produce high-quality products that meet our customers' specifications and quality standards. As a PVC Extruder Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring consistent output, maintaining safety standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our manufacturing operations.

What you'll be doing

• Operating PVC extrusion equipment in accordance with established procedures and specifications

• Monitoring production parameters including temperature, pressure and extrusion rates to ensure optimal performance

• Conducting routine maintenance and cleaning of extrusion machinery to maintain equipment integrity and longevity

• Performing quality checks on extruded products throughout the production process to identify and address any defects

• Recording production data, shift reports and equipment performance information accurately

• Identifying and troubleshooting minor equipment issues and alerting maintenance staff when repairs are required

• Following all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment

• Collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines

• Assisting with material handling and storage of raw materials and finished products

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a PVC Extruder Operator or similar machine operator role within a manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of PVC extrusion processes, including equipment operation and troubleshooting

• Knowledge of production quality standards and the ability to maintain consistent product specifications

• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks on extrusion equipment

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical specifications, production schedules and equipment manuals

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards

• Strong health and safety awareness with a demonstrated commitment to following workplace safety procedures

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• A valid driver's licence and willingness to commute to Yatala, QLD 4207

• Preferred: Previous experience in the plastic extrusion industry
