Laboratory Technician

Your responsibilities will include:

• Test finished products including bricks, pavers, blocks and roof tiles.
• Complete raw-material testing, including particle size, pH, conductivity, hammer milling and test bars.
• Collect and transport product samples from manufacturing areas to the laboratory.
• Complete testing in accordance with Australian Standards, quality procedures and laboratory documentation.
• Record test results accurately and maintain detailed laboratory records.
• Report results outside standard specifications to the Laboratory Supervisor.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections of laboratory equipment.
• Identify and report non-conformances, equipment concerns and safety hazards.
• Complete additional testing to support production, clay extraction and yard teams.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe laboratory environment.
• Work flexibly across different laboratories and manufacturing sites.
• Build cooperative relationships with laboratory, production and yard teams.

About You
You will be organised, safety-focused and confident working both independently and as part of a technical team.
To be successful, you will have:

• Previous laboratory, quality-control or materials-testing experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow testing procedures and technical instructions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good computer and data-entry skills.
• Ability to maintain clear and accurate testing records.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Experience using correct manual-handling techniques.
• Current C-class Australian Driver's Licence.
• Reliable transport and flexibility to work across multiple sites.
• Full Australian working rights.

Highly Regarded

• Certificate III in Laboratory Skills, Laboratory Techniques or a similar qualification.
• Experience testing raw materials or manufactured products.
• Experience with destructive or physical product testing.
• Experience within building products, mining, construction materials or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality-control procedures and Australian Standards.
