HSEQ Training Officer | Redpath Mining | Appin | 15/13 Roster | Full-Time Permanent

About the Role
The HSEQ Training Officer is responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of training programs supporting shaft operations, access and egress activities on the AVMA Shaft Project at Appin.
The role ensures all personnel working in and around the shaft hold the skills, knowledge and competencies required to perform their duties safely and in accordance with legislation, regulatory requirements, site procedures and company standards. It is central to maintaining workforce capability and supporting a strong safety culture on site.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain site training programs and systems to ensure compliance with the site Safety Management System, legislative requirements and company standards.
Coordinate, develop, source and deliver training, including theory and practical assessment, to meet operational and workforce competency requirements.
Develop training material, assessment instruments and practical assessment tools aligned to site procedures, safe work methods and competency requirements.
Maintain the site Training Needs Analysis and training matrix, ensuring role-based requirements remain current as work scopes change.
Conduct and record verification of competency for shaft, plant and high-risk activities, including reassessment at required intervals.
Maintain accurate training and competency records in the site learning management system, including currency of statutory tickets, licences and medicals.
Assist with NSW coal mining licensing and compliance requirements, including liaison with Registered Training Organisations.
Coordinate client induction requirements, including site-specific inductions and workforce onboarding.
Verify competency and training compliance for contractors and subcontractors prior to commencing work on site.
Provide HSEQ support through safety observations, workplace inspections, risk assessments, incident reporting and hazard reporting.
Support quality assurance activities relevant to training documentation, assessment records and system audits.
Deliver training and conduct assessment in the shaft environment, including on the stage and at working levels, as required.
About You:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) with current assessor competencies.
Hold current working at heights competency
Ability and willingness to deliver training and conduct assessment in the shaft environment, including working at heights and conveyance travel.
Demonstrated training and competency experience in mining, shaft sinking or heavy construction.
Working knowledge of the NSW Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2022 and coal industry training requirements.
Experience administering a learning management system and maintaining auditable training records.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage a diverse operational workforce.
Flexible team player, comfortable working within a small site team and adapting to changing operational priorities.
