Daintree Rainforest River Guide

Back Country Bliss Adventures is looking for an active and adventurous River Guide/Driver to join our team for the busy season.

Based in Port Douglas, we operate half-day and full-day tours throughout Mossman and the Daintree, including our River Drift Experience and Full Day Mossman Gorge Adventure Tour.

This is a seasonal casual role, primarily providing additional coverage throughout September and October, with further work potentially available over the Christmas holiday period. Our operations become quieter outside these peak periods, particularly from January through to April, so ongoing or guaranteed hours cannot be offered.

The roster will vary depending on bookings, making this role best suited to someone with flexibility who is looking for additional work for the next couple of months with the potential of more full time work next season beginning in April.

• Start at our yard in Port Douglas

• Meet & Greet our passengers through pick-ups around Port Douglas

• Provide on-board commentary of the region

• Take guests on guided interpretive walks through the Rainforest

• Guide River Drift Experience tours in the Mossman River

• Help with setup for tours and post tour cleanup 

• High level of fitness and mobility as this is a very active job

• Outgoing personality and high attention to safety

• Be a strong and confident swimmer

• Australian full drivers license, preferably Light Rigid (LR) or above.

• QLD Drivers Authority license required (separate license, ask google)

• Current First Aid certificate + CPR

• This is a seasonal role which could be ongoing for the right candidate and requires the successful applicant to be available over a 7-day roster, including weekends.

• You must have your own transport to get to our yard

Experience desirable: 

• Guiding experience beneficial

• Available to start immediately

• Lives in the Port Douglas region

• Experience towing/reversing trailers

• Swift water rescue operator ticket or equivalent

• Wet Tropics Tour Guide Certification

Uniforms and training are provided.
