About the role

Team Leader Family Services

Permanent Full Time

Colac Area Health is a values-based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.

The Team Leader Family Services is a key member of the Family & Community Programs leadership team, providing line management, operational leadership and supervision for the Strengthening Families Program.

The Strengthening Families Program is a DFFH-funded service delivered in line with Victoria's family services strategic framework. It provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary, in-home support to children, young people and families through a dedicated care team model, working in partnership with universal, community, specialist and statutory services as required.

The successful candidate will oversee program delivery to ensure every child, young person and family receives a client-centred response consistent with best practice and current program guidelines. The role plays an active part in program development, incorporating stakeholder feedback, program evaluation and the co-design of service models informed by the lived experience of clients.

What's required?

• A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, welfare studies or other related area.
• Demonstrated experience in the delivery of family support services, parenting capacity building.
• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and create positive team culture in a complex service delivery environment.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical supervision and other strategies to support staff.
• Experience working with marginalised families using a child-centred, family-sensitive approach.
• Experience working with Child Protection and demonstrated understanding of the relevant legislative and practice context.
• Sound knowledge of Victoria's family services strategic framework, DFFH program and practice requirements, and relevant legislation including the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and MARAM.
• Demonstrated experience in providing a range of interventions to achieve safety for children at risk of harm.
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to think laterally and work collaboratively within the dynamics of complex case management.
• Experience in developing partnership opportunities to achieve best practice outcomes for clients.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other key internal and external stakeholders to build strong internal and external networks.
• Demonstrated experience in program planning and co-ordination including monitoring performance against targets and data reporting.
• Current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee) and current Victorian Driver's Licence.
• Clear National Police History.

Desirable:

• Computer skills in a Windows and Google Drive environment including word processing, data collection and entry, internet and email.
