About the role

Join the dynamic team at Henry Plant and Equipment Hire Pty Ltd as a full-time Tilt Tray/Heavy Rigid Transport Operator based in Lithgow, NSW. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy rigid vehicles, ensuring the timely delivery of freight and equipment across the region.

What you'll be doing

• Safely operate heavy rigid vehicles, including tilt tray, weight specific transporting equipment and materials as directed.

• Plan and execute transportation routes, taking into account traffic conditions, weight restrictions and other factors to ensure on-time deliveries

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining detailed logs and reporting any issues or concerns

• Load and unload freight and equipment, utilising lifting equipment as required

• Adhere to all relevant transport regulations, safety procedures and environmental policies

• Provide exceptional customer service, communicating effectively with clients and stakeholders

• Support the broader operations of the business as needed

What we're looking for

• Extensive experience (3+ years) operating heavy rigid vehicles, with a strong focus on safety and attention to detail

• Relevant licences and certifications, including a Heavy Rigid Licence (HR)

• Load Restraint certification is favourable for this position.

• Australian citizenship is required for this position

• Excellent driving skills, with the ability to handle weight specific loads in a range of conditions

• Knowledge of transportation regulations, load securement techniques and route planning

• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities to effectively manage challenges on the road

• Commitment to providing high-quality customer service and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
