Disability Support Worker – Active Capacity Builder

About the role

This role supports one participant on the Gold Coast using a teach–prompt–fade capacity-building approach. You will provide direct support with genuine independence and autonomy, working across mornings, afternoons and overnights.

Key responsibilities

• Direct support using teach–prompt–fade capacity-building approach

• Proactive home management during quieter periods — cleaning, supply planning, stock audits (first aid, emergency, car safety kits, go-bags)

• Researching and pitching activities matched to the participant's interests

• Clear, accurate shift notes and documentation

About you

• Experience in mental health support and complex communication needs

• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance + Blue Card

• First Aid & CPR

• NDIS Worker Orientation, Induction, Safe Eating & Safe Communication modules

• Open Australian driver's licence

• Availability across mornings, afternoons and overnights

• Genuinely proactive — you spot what needs doing and do it

• Patient and resilient, with the ability to reset each day

• Comfortable working autonomously and staying in close contact with management

• An animal lover — cats (including one affectionate white cat), birds, fish, reptiles and scorpions are all part of the home
