Production Cook/Chef

Port Fairy Based | Great Hours | No Service or Dockets

West Beach Cantina is looking for a cook or chef to join our small production kitchen team in Port Fairy.

This isn’t your typical kitchen job. There are no dockets, no busy service periods and virtually no late nights—just organised, quality cooking in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Most hours will be 10am–6pm, Monday to Friday, working alongside a small production team to prepare slow-cooked meats, sauces, salsas and other fresh ingredients.

We care deeply about the quality of the food we prepare. We cook from scratch using ingredients we genuinely feel good about—including locally sourced grass-fed beef, free-range antibiotic-free pork and chicken, pasture-raised eggs, local fish and spray free produce whenever possible. We also avoid cheap seed oils, cooking instead with olive oil, organic coconut oil and beef tallow.

Permanent Full-Time Package

• $65,000 - $80,000 PA (depending on experience) plus superannuation with 8 weeks of paid annual leave each year—predominantly taken during our winter closure

• Predominantly 10am–6pm, Monday to Friday

• 38 hours per week

• Very occasional weekend work

• Staff meals provided

• Assistance finding accomodation for someone relocating to Port Fairy

• No service, no dockets and virtually no late nights

About you

You don’t need to be a qualified chef. Experience in a commercial kitchen would be helpful, but what matters most to us is a good attitude, reliability and a genuine willingness to learn.

You’ll be a good fit if you:
