Animal Attendant (Pet Boarding)

At Hanrob Darwin, our team is deeply committed to delivering exceptional care to every furry friend that walks through it's doors. We are now looking for the pick of the litter to complement our existing team and help contribute to providing a premium service to local pets and their families.

The ideal candidate will be available to work morning shifts Monday to Friday (approximately 8:00am–11:00am/12:00pm), with flexibility to cover weekend shifts as required. This role is primarily focused on kennel and yard cleaning, so a strong work ethic and attention to hygiene is essential. Availability across peak periods, including school holidays (Christmas and Easter), is highly desirable.

Please note, there is no public transport to the facility, so reliable transport is required.

What you’ll be doing:

• Daily kennel and yard cleaning to maintain a high standard of hygiene and safety
• Washing and caring for dogs
• Supporting general facility upkeep and cleanliness
• Health checks and general animal husbandry
• Supervising dogs and managing behaviours to support wellbeing and safety
• Providing exercise and enrichment to pets as needed
• Delivering friendly, professional service to pet owners
• Capturing and sharing photos/videos for pet owner updates
• Maintaining accurate records and updating booking systems
• Supporting your team to ensure the best outcomes for our furry guests

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience working or volunteering with animals is preferred
• Comfortable with physically demanding, hands-on cleaning tasks
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
• Reliable transport to and from the site (no public transport available)
• Availability for weekend shifts and peak holiday periods
• Physically fit and comfortable working indoors and outdoors with pets of all sizes
• Confident communicator with a friendly, professional approach
• Reliable, positive team player who enjoys hands-on work
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions, policies and procedures
• Willingness to complete a lawful unpaid work trial shift (in line with Fair Work guidelines)

Please note: This is a physically active role that requires the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, bend, kneel, and handle animals (up to 50kg). You must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, and comfortably interact with pets, team members, and customers.
