About the role

We are seeking a reliable Mail and Parcel Delivery professional in Launceston, Tasmania. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our logistics operations, ensuring that mail and parcels are delivered efficiently and safely to our customers throughout Launceston. As a delivery professional, you will be the face of our company, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and the success of our courier and postal services operations.

What you'll be doing

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Collecting, sorting and delivering mail and parcels to residential and commercial addresses according to designated routes and schedules

• Operating delivery vehicles safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies

• Scanning and recording delivery information using handheld devices and delivery management systems

• Obtaining signatures and capturing proof of delivery for parcels and special mail items

• Handling customer inquiries and resolving delivery issues with professionalism and courtesy

• Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, failed attempts and customer feedback

• Ensuring vehicles are kept clean, well-maintained and stocked with necessary supplies

• Meeting daily and weekly delivery targets whilst maintaining high service quality standards

• Working collaboratively with team members at distribution centres and warehouses

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:

• A valid Australian driver's licence (Class C or higher) with a clean driving record

• Ability to learn quick and retain multiple sources of information whilst maintaining high efficiency

• Strong organisational and time management skills to meet delivery schedules and targets

• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate professionally with diverse clientele

• Physical fitness and capability to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 25 kilograms regularly

• Familiarity with delivery management systems, GPS technology and handheld scanning devices

• A reliable and conscientious approach to work with strong attention to detail

• Ability to work independently whilst following established protocols and company procedures

• Knowledge of the local Launceston area is advantageous

• A current Police Check or willingness to undergo one as part of the application process
