At Churches of Christ, we believe safe and secure housing creates stronger communities. As a Housing Support Worker based at our Kenmore Head Office, you'll support individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of losing their housing. This is a rewarding role where you’ll help clients access safe accommodation, strengthen their independence, and sustain long-term tenancy outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Housing Support Worker, you’ll work directly with individuals and families to provide case management. This involves understanding their circumstances, identifying their strengths, and helping them access the support they need to maintain safe and sustainable housing.
Your Role Will Include
Supporting people through personalised case management and support plansHelping clients build the skills and confidence to sustain their tenancyAssisting with budgeting, advocacy, and connecting clients with community servicesConducting assessments and identifying risks and support needsWorking closely with partner organisations to achieve the best outcomes for clientsMaintaining accurate records and reporting requirements
About You
We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about people and believes everyone deserves the opportunity to live safely and independently.
You’ll Bring
Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Community Services or a related field - or equivalent work experienceExperience in housing, homelessness, family support, mental health, domestic and family violence, child and family services, or a similar community services setting..Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships and trust with people from diverse backgroundsA practical, strengths-based approach to supporting people through complex challengesA current Driver’s Licence.Intermediate computer / Microsoft Office skillsNational Police Check and Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).
