Supervisor Security & Emergency Management | Kwinana | Monday-Friday

The Health, Safety, Security & Emergency Management team at WA Nickel is a supportive, inclusive and high-performing team dedicated to protecting the safety, health and wellbeing of our people. We are seeking an experienced Security and Emergency Management Supervisor to help lead and enhance emergency response, security and medical readiness capability across our Southern Operations.

Reporting to the HSS Superintendent Southern Operations and West Musgrave, this Perth-based role (Kwinana) includes regular travel to Kalgoorlie, Kambalda and West Musgrave. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact, leading and developing teams that play a critical role in keeping our people safe every day.

As a visible and trusted leader, you will work closely with Emergency Services Officers, Security Officers, HSS leaders and operational teams to strengthen emergency response capability, uplift team performance and drive continuous improvement across the asset. The role combines operational leadership, capability development, governance and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys coaching and mentoring others while influencing positive safety outcomes.

You will lead the ongoing development of emergency response, security and medical readiness programs, ensuring teams have the skills, confidence and support required to respond effectively to a range of situations. You will also contribute to a culture where people feel valued, supported and empowered to grow and succeed.

As well as being the first point of contact for site-based security, emergency response and medical support across Southern Operations, your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining emergency response capability across multiple operations.
• Ensuring emergency response and medical equipment is well maintained, compliant and operational.
• Promoting best-practice pre-hospital emergency care and adherence to treatment procedures and documentation requirements.
• Building team capability in incident command, control and emergency management.
• Leading training programs, coaching opportunities and scenario-based emergency exercises.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across security and emergency management systems and processes.
• Assisting with site security, access control and monitoring activities.

This role operates on a 5D/2X Perth-based roster and requires regular travel across Kwinana, Kalgoorlie, Kambalda and West Musgrave. We are looking for a leader who combines technical capability with empathy, adaptability and a genuine commitment to developing people and creating safer workplaces.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Certificate III Mines Rescue Response (or equivalent), including:
• Road Crash Rescue
• Confined Space Rescue
• Vertical Rescue
• Fire Team Operations
• HAZMAT
• Certificate IV Pre-Hospital Care or higher.
• Unit of Competency in Drug and Alcohol Testing.
• Current Australian HR/MR Driver's Licence.
• Manual Driver's Licence.
• Certificate IV Training and Assessment.
• Working knowledge of SAP, Excel and Word.
• Certificate IV Frontline Leadership and Management (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience within Emergency Management and/or the medical discipline.
• Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.

You may also have the following desirable qualifications:

• Diploma of Paramedical Science or AHPRA registration.
• Experience working in emergency services, healthcare, mining, defence or security environments.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced and dynamic situations.
• Experience in Major Hazard Facility Emergency Response.
