The Role

As a valued member of the Warwick SHS community, the successful applicant will be a passionate, conscientious and innovative Design and Technologies teacher. The ability to contribute to Digital Technologies will be highly regarded.

We are seeking applicants with a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum relevant to Years 7 to 10, together with the knowledge and capacity to contribute to relevant senior secondary and vocational programs in Years 11 and 12. In this role, you will deliver engaging teaching and learning programs across areas such as woodwork, jewellery, applied engineering and construction, catering to the diverse needs of Warwick SHS students and ensuring every learner is empowered to realise their potential. Capability in Digital Technologies, particularly in areas such as game design and digital design within our new state-of-the-art STEM facility, would be highly desirable. Qualifications and experience that support the delivery of Certificate II in Construction and/or Certificate III in Information Technology, or a willingness to undertake the required training, would also be highly regarded. Flexibility and a willingness to teach across other curriculum areas, as required, would also be valued.

As the successful applicant, you will ideally:

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging Design and Technologies and/or Digital Technologies programs across Years 7 to 12, aligned with the relevant Western Australian Curriculum and senior secondary requirements.
• Deliver high-quality, hands-on learning across areas such as woodwork, jewellery, applied engineering and construction within our Design and Technologies workshop facilities.
• Contribute to Digital Technologies programs, as required to meet learning area needs, including areas such as game design and digital design within our new state-of-the-art STEM facility.
• Support the delivery of Certificate II in Construction and/or Certificate III in Information Technology, contributing to strong vocational pathways for students.
• Use assessment evidence, feedback and moderation processes to monitor student progress, support consistent teacher judgement and inform teaching and learning.
• Maintain safe, inclusive and well-managed classroom and workshop environments that cater to the diverse needs of learners, while modelling appropriate work practices and ensuring the safe use of tools, machinery, materials and equipment.
• Build positive, professional relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the broader school community.
• Engage in reflective practice and ongoing professional learning to strengthen your professional practice.
• Contribute to the school's priorities and culture, including alignment with the 2027–2029 Business Plan.
• Display flexibility to teach in other curriculum areas where needed.
