THE POSITION:
The Visitor Economy Partner plays a key role in growing and supporting the Albury Wodonga visitor economy through strategic industry partnerships, commercial program delivery, digital destination presence and visitor servicing. The position has a direct commercial focus, contributing to Council revenue generation, partner retention and the financial sustainability of tourism programs through the effective management and growth of the Albury Wodonga Tourism Partner Program.
The position is responsible for coordinating and delivering the Tourism Partner Program as a commercial offering, including pricing, inclusions, sales activity and performance monitoring. Outcomes from the role directly influence program revenue, participation levels and return on investment for both Council and industry partners.
The role operates with autonomy within Council policies and delegated authority, acting as the specialist point of contact for tourism business engagement and partner program delivery while supporting the Team Leader Visitor Economy & Experience in achieving agreed strategic, commercial and partnership objectives.
ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, manage and deliver the Albury Wodonga Tourism Partner Program, including annual sales campaigns, partner onboarding, fulfilment of inclusions, familiarisations and ongoing relationship management.
- Generate and manage program revenue, monitor performance against agreed financial and participation targets, and ensure value for money and compliance with Council financial requirements.
- Maintain and enhance strong working relationships with approximately 120 tourism partners, industry stakeholders, regional and state tourism bodies, and Wodonga Council.
- Contribute to delivery of the Albury Wodonga Destination Management Plan and Tourism Partnership Agreement through coordinated programs, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage and maintain the Visit Albury Wodonga website and associated destination listings, ensuring accuracy, relevance and alignment with brand standards.
- Contribute to development and implementation of digital content strategies, including websites, social media, electronic direct mail and marketing collateral.
- Coordinate and facilitate industry development forums, partner communications, meetings and familiarisation opportunities.
- Collect, analyse and interpret tourism and visitation data to support preparation of the Annual Visitor Economy Report and provide insights to internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent Visit Albury Wodonga at industry meetings, workshops and conferences as required.
- Respond to industry and visitor enquiries across digital platforms, email and phone, ensuring timely, accurate and professional customer service.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Based on a 35-hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity’s RDO guidelines.
- This position may involve work outside normal working hours. Additional hours over the standard 35 hours will attract a time in- lieu arrangement or payment of overtime rates as agreed in advance with your supervisor.
- This position does not require you to wear a compulsory uniform, however you must follow the dress code requirements within the AlburyCity’s Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely.
- This position involves working in a predominantly indoor environment and using a computer is considered a core component of the role. There may be occasional visits to other work locations. The position requires an average level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake occasional physical activities, including manual handling tasks as part of a normal working environment. A medical declaration will be required to be completed prior to commencement.
- This position is subject to alcohol and other drug testing.
- This position is located at the AlburyCity Administration Building, 553 Kiewa Street, Albury with occasional visits to external sites/depots as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Tertiary qualification in Tourism / Marketing or a related discipline or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience.
- Current Class C (Standard) Driver’s Licence.

- Considerable practical experience working in tourism, destination marketing or a related environment.
- Considerable practical experience in business development, partnership management and sales negotiation.
SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

- Ability to collect, analyse and interpret data to inform reporting and decision making.
- Project coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities within tight timeframes.
