About the role

Tableland Fertilizer is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our team in Mareeba, QLD. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic retail and consumer products environment. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the smooth operation of our store. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for quality service and helping customers find the products they need to succeed.

What you'll be doing

• Welcoming customers and providing friendly, knowledgeable assistance with product enquiries and recommendations

• Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems

• Maintaining a clean, well-organised store environment with proper product displays and stock rotation

• Assisting with stock receipt, unpacking, and shelf replenishment throughout the day

• Building positive relationships with regular customers and encouraging repeat business

• Supporting promotional activities and ensuring marketing materials are displayed appropriately

• Operating cash registers and managing payments, including cash, card, and other payment methods

• Performing other duties as assigned to support team operations

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in a retail or customer-facing environment

• Excellent communication skills with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service

• Strong numeracy skills and accuracy when handling cash and processing transactions

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Physical capability to lift and move stock items regularly throughout the shift

• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to maintain consistent performance

• A flexible approach to work, including willingness to work Saturday mornings in a roster system.

• Product knowledge or willingness to quickly learn about stockfeed and agricultural products is highly valued
