We have exciting opportunities for an Associate Environmental Planner to join our growing Melbourne based Planning and Environmental Approvals Team!

The role is suited for an experienced town planning professional looking to expand and diversify their experience and career.

You will make a key contribution to the delivery of planning, impact assessment and regulatory approvals of significant projects across a range of sectors. The role has a strong focus on infrastructure including renewables energy, water, power, mining, defence and transport projects.

In our team and across Jacobs Australia, you will work alongside highly experienced professionals that will support you to grow and develop professionally.

Here's what you'll need

In this role, you will:

• Develop your consulting, project management and technical skills through delivering a range of planning and environmental consulting projects.
• Contribute to identifying, sourcing and winning opportunities through building client relationships and leading and/or writing proposals. 
• Provide technical town planning advice and guidance to external and internal clients.
• Manage complex projects within timeframes and budgets, while supervising team members and leading positive client interactions. 
• Provide training and mentoring to junior team members.
• Develop and maintain business relationships with internal and external clients.
• Provide project management experience and support to team members.
• Deliver high-quality report writing and technical deliverables.
• Work with clients in the early stages of their project to develop planning and environmental approvals strategies and scope environmental impact assessments.
• Prepare high-quality approvals documentation and environmental management plans.
• Work in a team that is part of national practice, enabling you to work on projects across Australia with our 275+ strong Environmental Solutions business.

We are looking for enthusiastic and values driven professional that have experience delivering environmental impact assessments and environmental approval in Melbourne.

What you require:

• A degree/post graduate qualification in town planning, environmental science or related discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of Victorian legislation and applying/assessing development applications.
• Exceptional organisational skills with strong motivation and ability to work autonomously.
• Effective presentation and verbal communication skills.

While not essential, knowledge and experience with the following would be favourable:

• Applying Commonwealth environmental legislation.
• Drafting land use impact assessments.
• Effectively harnesses technology to streamline tasks.
