The Consultancy firm is currently experiencing considerable growth, thus requiring the services of experienced and motivated Utility Works Project Manager. .
Our office is located in Notting Hill in Melbourne's South East.
Reports to: Utility Works Senior Project Manager
Key Responsibilities:Manage the delivery of contestable works projects, including Underground Residential Distribution (URD), overhead electricity infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and utility augmentation projects.Coordinate project activities from planning and design through to construction, auditing, approval, and asset handover.Liaise with power authorities, utility providers, contractors, consultants, and clients to facilitate project delivery and approvals.Support constructors and stakeholders in achieving network audit and compliance requirements.Prepare and manage project documentation, authority applications, forms, reports, and handover packages.Conduct regular site inspections, audits, progress meetings, and respond to construction-related queries.Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with applicable VESI standards, utility requirements, and distribution network legislation.Monitor project progress, identify risks, and assist in resolving technical and delivery issues.Provide general project and operational support to the business as required.
Minimum Educational Qualifications:Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma of Project Management
The successful candidate will have:Australian-recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering, and/or Project ManagementMinimum 2-3 years' experience in the Victorian Electricity Supply Industry (VESI) or utility infrastructure sector.Sound understanding of VESI requirements, standards, approval processes, and compliance obligations.Experience managing utility, power authority, contestable works, URD, or electrical infrastructure projects.Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver projects from design through to construction, audit, and handover.Experience working with utility providers, contractors, consultants, clients, and regulatory authorities.Knowledge of utility requirements for residential, commercial, and industrial developments.Strong stakeholder management, communication, report writing, and documentation skills.Proficiency in Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications.Current Australian Driver's Licence.Highly regarded:Previous experience with Power Authority design approvals and delivery processes.Experience in contestable works and Underground Residential Distribution (URD) projects.Electrical design experience within utility or distribution networks.Established knowledge of Victorian electricity distributors and authority requirements.
