Brimbank City Council's Neighbourhood Houses Unit is seeking a Full Time Fixed Term staff member to join our dynamic team based at both the Westvale Community Centre and Sydenham Neighbourhood House.

The role

Reporting to the Senior Team Leader Neighbourhood Houses at Westvale Community Centre and Sydenham Neighbourhood House, we are seeking an individual who can bring their skills and experience in the following ways:

• Provide customer service to support community members to access Neighbourhood House spaces and programs including processing of general enquiries in person, over the phone or via email
• Administrative support, including invoicing, purchasing and bookings of all spaces and resources in consultation with the Team Leader
• Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures relating to the direction and operation of the Centres
• Support program and events including liaising with tutors and stakeholders, preparing promotional materials and room set up and pack up
• Oversee cleaning, security and day to day maintenance and other issues, including resolving standard operational issues and disputes as required
• Local government experience is desirable

To be considered you will have

• A sound understanding of the role and function of Neighbourhood Houses and knowledge of local resources and services supporting community.
• Proven high level organisational skills to plan, prioritise and manage daily work and competing priorities within required timelines efficiently and effectively.
• Demonstrated experience in working in an intercultural setting with an ability to work with and relate to a diverse range of clients, service users and service providers
• Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service including community liaison in a community setting.
