About the Role

As the Workshop Operations Manager / Senior Tech, you will oversee the daily flow of our busy Hornsby workshop while staying hands-on with high-level repairs and diagnostic work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct daily workshop operations to ensure smooth, efficient workflow.
• Diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of marine engines and systems.
• Plan and schedule jobs, work orders, and maintenance programs.
• Lead, mentor, and train technicians and apprentices.
• Liaise directly with customers, suppliers, and internal management.
• Assist with spare parts management, stock control, and job costing when required.
• Maintain high standards of quality control, workshop safety, and compliance.

About You

• Qualifications: Trade Certified Marine Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle / Automotive Mechanic with strong marine experience.
• Experience: 3+ years in a senior or supervisory role within a workshop environment preferred.
• Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of marine engine systems (outboards, inboards, electronics). Mercury experience is a huge plus!
• Leadership: Strong communication and team management skills with a positive, problem-solving attitude.
• Requirements: Current Driver’s Licence (Forklift licence highly regarded).
