Key Responsibilities

• Advise the business on a range of Australian financial services regulatory matters.

• Support the Head of Legal in managing regulatory projects, regulatory change initiatives and day-to-day advisory work.

• Interpret and provide practical guidance on applicable regulatory frameworks and obligations.

• Work closely with business, risk and compliance stakeholders on regulatory compliance and governance matters.

• Assist with regulator engagement, responses to regulatory enquiries and implementation of regulatory developments.

• Review and advise on products, services and business initiatives from a regulatory perspective.

• Support regulatory remediation, policy reviews and control uplift projects as required.

Requirements

• Admitted lawyer in Australia.

• Approximately 4-10 years' PQE, although all relevant candidates will be considered.

• Experience advising on financial services regulatory matters gained in-house, at a regulator, or within a leading law firm.

• Experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Banking and prudential regulation

  • Markets and securities regulation

  • Consumer or commercial lending

  • Wealth management

  • Payments or fintech regulation

  • Regulatory compliance and governance

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach.
