Mental Health Clinician - Community Mental Health

• Multiple Permanent and Fixed term, Full Time and Part Time positions (64 - 80 hours per fortnight)

The Team & Role

The Frankston Adult Community Mental Health Team (FACMHT), based at Tarnbuk Centre in Frankston, provides specialist assessment, treatment, and case management services to adults aged 16 to 65 years experiencing significant mental health conditions, as well as support to their carers and families. Consumers accessing the service present with a wide range of mental health diagnoses and often experience co-occurring conditions, including substance use disorders and complex psychosocial issues.

The Case Management team delivers assertive, recovery-oriented community treatment and works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care.  

The Community Mental Health Clinician, as a member of the multidisciplinary team, provides timely and responsive mental health assessment, treatment, and support to individuals requiring urgent, short-term, or ongoing intensive community-based interventions. The clinician practices within their professional scope to deliver safe, evidence-based, person-centred care, supporting consumers to achieve optimal health and recovery outcomes.

Skills & Experience Required 

• Registration as a Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Clinical Psychologist, with relevant professional registration (AHPRA/AASW).
• Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) only: Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health or completion of a recognised specialist undergraduate Mental Health program.
• Extensive experience in the mental health field, including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health settings.
• A current Victorian Driver Licence.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022
