The Role & Project

MACA Mining are seeking motivated candidates interested in commencing a Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter apprenticeship on one of our mining projects, operating on a 2/1 FIFO roster or at our Hazelmere workshop on a 5/2 roster.

As an Apprentice, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in a large-scale mining environment while completing a nationally recognised trade qualification. Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will develop your skills and knowledge through practical on the job training and structured learning.

Supporting general maintenance activities, scheduled servicing, breakdown repairs and component change-outs to a high standard.Learning to source and interpret technical information from manuals, technical bulletins, OEM documentation and computer-based systems.Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within workshops and work areas.Carrying out pre-start inspections and reporting any defects or safety concerns.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Possess

A commitment to working safely and following site health and safety procedures at all times.A proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced mining environment.The ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions from supervisors and tradespeople.Hold a current driver’s licence (C class preferred).Previous exposure to mechanical or heavy equipment environments (desirable but not required).A National Police Clearance.
