Desert Knowledge Australia (DKA) is a statutory corporation of the Northern Territory established under the Desert Knowledge Australia Act 2003 (NT). Our purpose is to encourage and facilitate learning, research and sustainable economic and social development relating to deserts and arid lands.

DKA is administering the Australian Government’s Strengthening Families and Communities – Safe on Country Fund in Central Australia.

About the role

The Program Establishment Officer supports the Program Manager to establish the Safe on Country Fund

and ensure governance, operational, financial, administrative and systems requirements are developed and

implemented to enable delivery of community-led grant funding across Central Australia. Working

collaboratively with the Program Manager, Grants Manager and Administration Officer during the

establishment phase. The role coordinates establishment activities, develops supporting systems and

documentation, and assists in creating the operational foundations required for long-term program

delivery.
