Warehouse Supervisor / Team Leader

Our client is a proud family-owned WA business specialising in fencing products, retail and installation, with a strong reputation for quality products and service. With branches in Balcatta and the South West of WA, they are continuing to grow and are now looking for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader / Supervisor to join their Perth operation.
 
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll play a key part in keeping the warehouse running efficiently, ensuring incoming stock is received accurately, orders are dispatched on time, and—most importantly—the warehouse remains a safe and well-organised environment.
 
About the Role
 
Reporting to the Distribution Manager, you will lead the day-to-day activities of the warehouse team while remaining hands-on with warehouse operations.
A major priority of this role is the accurate receipting of incoming goods, including container deliveries and local supplier deliveries. You will also take a strong lead on warehouse safety, ensuring the team follows safe work practices and hazards are identified and addressed.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the warehouse team, including daily toolbox meetings, task allocation, training and performance feedback
• Receipt and process all incoming goods accurately, including container and local supplier deliveries
• Manage stock levels, locations and discrepancies using Sortly, including coordinating monthly stocktakes
• Ensure orders are picked, checked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time
• Review daily and upcoming jobs in ServiceM8 and ensure orders are ready for dispatch
• Take ownership of warehouse safety, ensuring PPE, manual handling, equipment checks and safe work practices are maintained
• Conduct daily warehouse and yard inspections, identifying and addressing hazards, housekeeping issues and damaged equipment.
• Ensure forklifts, warehouse equipment and tools are safely maintained and report any issues
• Ensure trucks are safely loaded and ready to depart on schedule.
• Manage warehouse opening and closing, timesheets, staff coverage and general day-to-day warehouse operations
• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, efficiency and workflow
• Assist with general storeperson duties and other reasonable tasks as required

About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and confident leading a warehouse team, with a genuine focus on safety, accuracy and getting the job done.
 
You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader or senior Storeperson role
• Strong experience with goods receipting, stock control and inventory management
• A strong understanding of warehouse safety and safe manual handling practices
• The ability to lead, train and motivate a team
• Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Experience using ServiceM8 and/or Sortly would be highly regarded
• A current Forklift Licence
• A hands-on approach and willingness to jump in and support the team when required
• Strong communication skills and a positive team-focused attitude

What's On Offer?

• $80,000 - $85,000 + Super
• Permanent, full-time position
