About the role
We are seeking a Labourer – Painter to join our Building Trades team and help maintain and enhance Council buildings and facilities across the region.
Reporting to the Team Leader Building Trades, you will undertake a range of hands-on duties including surface preparation, painting and finishing, minor maintenance works and general labouring support. You will also assist with maintaining tools, equipment and safe, tidy worksites while contributing to the presentation, upkeep and ongoing maintenance of Council assets.

$72,322 - $77,228 p.a. + super + allowances
Full Time + Fortnightly RDO
5 Weeks Annual Leave + 3 Weeks Personal Leave

Based in Innisfail and across the region
About the Role
Undertake painting, surface preparation and finishing across Council buildings and facilities.
Complete minor maintenance, cleaning and general labouring tasks.
Support the delivery of Council’s planned painting and renewal program.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and attention to detail.
Assist other trades to keep Council facilities safe, clean and well maintained.
Work positively with Council teams and members of the community.
Skills & Experience
Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in painting, graffiti removal or building maintenance.
Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
Construction White Card.
Working at Heights certification, or ability to obtain.
Strong safety awareness, communication and teamwork skills.
